More on money granted to help Murdo with housing

MURDO, S.D.(KCCR)- Murdo’s Economic Development group last month received 186-thousand dollars in Housing Opportunity Funding from the South Dakota Development Authority to help bring two Governors Houses to the Jones County seat.   Murdo Economic Development Director Ashley Geigel says the community is still trying to figure out what kind of housing need Murdo has.

Geigel says Murdo’s challenges are similar to other cities of every size.

Geigel appreciates the South Dakota Housing Development Authority’s belief in what Murdo is looking to do with housing.

In the last round of funding, Kimball was granted 171-thousand dollars for the development of infrastructure for 13 single family lots.
