VIBORG, S.D.(WNAX)- Some rural school districts are getting a nice surprise and seeing more students come in their doors.
Brett Mellum, Superintendent at Viborg-Hurley says they have had several increases in a row.
Mellum says they have been able to adjust their staff to adapt.
Mellum says while state aid rises with the enrollment, costs do too.
Mellum says they are seeing new homes in and around their communities, with people moving out from the Sioux Falls area.
