Most services returning for health care providers

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – Many health care providers had furloughed workers at the height of the coronavirus pandemic when many routine medical services were cut back.

Doug Ekeren, President of Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton and Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, says most services are back.

Ekeren says people are still hesitant to come into their facilities.

Ekeren says most of their furloughed workers have come back.

Ekeren says employee numbers always rise and fall depending on the services needed in their facilities.
