Mount Marty to ask City of Yankton for revenue bonds for fieldhouse

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – Mount Marty College will ask the City of Yankton to sponsor economic revenue bonds to finance construction of their new fieldhouse.

City Manager Amy Leon says the city is just a pass through for the bonds.

Mount Marty President Marc Long says they plan to finance the entire $15 million cost of the building.

City Finance Officer Al Viereck says using the revenue bonds will save the college a lot of interest.

The city commission will hold a public hearing on the bond request at their meeting on March 25.

The college plans to break ground on the 100,000 square foot facility in April.
