PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota Health Department is focused on getting COVID-19 vaccinations to those over 80 in the phase “1-D” portion of the immunization program.
Many of those senior citizens don’t have internet access or a smart phone for notification.
Health Department Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon says they will use multiple resources to reach those older people.
Malsam-Rysdon says the seniors will be a priority for several weeks.
Malsam-Rysdon says it will take some time to reach all those in the “1-D” category.
Almost 60,000 people have now had at least their first dose of vaccine.
