ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The side of a familiar Aberdeen building is getting a new look thanks to a project from the Aberdeen Area Arts Council.

Nick and Nicole Fischer are in the process of painting a mural on the west side of the Woodman Refrigeration building along Sixth Ave. just east of Lawson St. Stacy Braun, Executive Director of the Aberdeen Area Arts Council, talked about the origins of the project.

She said the mural will feature an interactive design.

Braun said this will be the first in a series of projects coming up in the next couple of years.

Winterfest will be coming up in November. Deadline for vendor space is Wednesday, Sept.30. The Arts Council was unable to host the annual Arts in the Park and Storybook Land Festival this summer, but is hoping to pull off the annual Winterfest event held at the Aberdeen Civic Arena.
