WATERTOWN, S.D. (Press Release) – Authorities have released the name of the man who died following a single-vehicle crash near Watertown on Saturday night.

According to the Department of Public Safety, around 8:15 p.m., 53-year-old Jacob Obermeier of Sioux Falls was traveling West on 164th Street near 450th Avenue, about 7 miles northwest of Watertown. He failed to navigate the curve, entered the north ditch, and rolled.

Obermeier died as a result of his injuries, he was wearing a seatbelt.

South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
