Nancy Guffin, 78

Nancy C. Guffin, 78, of Webster, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at Plano, Texas, after a short, but courageous, battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be held 11am June 21, 2025 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be immediately follow at the Webster Cemetery. a time of lunch and fellowship will follow the burial back at the funeral home.

Nancy Claire Magee was born on March 15, 1941, to William and Evelyn (Besaw) Magee at Potsdam, New York. The family relocated to South Dakota where Nancy grew up and attended school. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1964. She then furthered her education at Northern State University in Aberdeen.

On December 28, 1966, she married David Guffin at Huron, South Dakota. The couple lived in Watertown and Webster, raising their three children. Nancy worked as the manager for the Webster Golf Course for 30 years and worked as a paraprofessional at the Webster school for 24 years, as well as owning and operating her in home daycare for many years. She retired in 2012.

Nancy was a member of the United Methodist Church in Webster where she taught Sunday school, Bible school, and lead youth groups. She was also a Brownies/Girls/Cub Scout Leader and assisted with Webster 4-H. She enjoyed reading and exercising. Nancy was a kind soul who was a friend to everyone. She touched many lives and had special bonds with many of the kids she taught and or babysat over the years.

Nancy passed away February 21, 2025, at Plano, Texas, at the age of 78 years, 11 months, and 6 days.

She is survived by her husband, David Guffin of Webster, SD, two sons, Dana (Becky) Guffin of Aberdeen, SD, Eric (Jessica) Guffin of Frisco, TX, one daughter, Amy (Sev) Koerner of Clovis, CA, four grandsons; Bailey, Brandon, Brogan, Aiden, and Jackson, and one great-granddaughter Brynley. She is also survived by one brother, Tim (Carol) Magee of Helena, MT, one sister, Julie (Rick) Briggs of Watertown, South Dakota, several nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.
