ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release) – About 200 middle and high school students from around northeastern South Dakota will be on the Northern State University campus on March 9 for the National History Day regional competition.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon. Judging will take place in Northern’s Avera Student Center, Missouri River Room and Williams Library.

This year’s theme is “Debate and Diplomacy in History.” Nationwide, more than a half million kids participate in National History Day every year.

Winners at the regional competition are invited to go to the state competition, and winners of the state competition advance to the national competition.
