National Weather Service in Aberdeen looking into storm damage from Monday’s night storms

ABERDEEN, S.D.(DRGNews)- A strong storm system ripped through parts of central South Dakota Monday night.

Aberdeen National Weather Service Meteorologist Katherine King says so far this morning they’re collecting information.

At this point, King says they’re gathering information to determine whether the storm system was a tornado, straight line winds or had some of both.

The weather service in Aberdeen receives reports of 67mph wind gust at the airport & 80mph in Aberdeen. There was a 70mph wind gust reported at Richmond Lake Rec Area.
