WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- David Eickmeyer with the National Wild Turkey Federation spoke with KXLG News to announce their annual event.

So it begs the question, Can turkeys fly?

Eickmeyer says the turkey numbers are growing, but not everyone likes having them around. They are good at migrating, so if threatened, they will have moved to another location.

Outside their conservation efforts, they also sponsor the Jamie Isaacson and Dale Brinkman Memorial fishing tournament on Lake Kamepska in August.

Francis Strofus, the State and Local Chapter president, was just inducted into the National Turkey Hall of Fame.
