RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- The Supreme Court’s abortion decision will have wide reaching repercussions, for people of all backgrounds.

Steph Viera is the social media manager for NDN Collective, who hears echoes of colonialism in the decision.

Viera says the overturn of Roe V. Wade impacts the outlook for many communities.

For example, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem said on an early July CNN appearance the issue of same-sex marriage in South Dakota “will be a debate we continue to have.”

Viera says it fits into a long history of American actions, and advocated for continued listening.
