PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Public Utilities Commissioner Chris Nelson was elected Chairman for the next two years at the first meeting of the year of the commission.
Nelson says he appreciates the confidence.
Nelson was appointed to the PUC in January 2011 by Governor Dennis Daugaard to fill a vacancy. He was elected in November 2012 to complete the remaining four years of that term and re-elected in November 2016 for a full, six-year term.
Nelson says the issues have changed since he first joined the commission.
Nelson says he is concerned about possible changes in the federal regulation climate.
