Lexington, KY (NSUWolves.com) – After being named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks, Northern State volleyball’s Linnea Nesheim has been awarded the AVCA Division II National Player of the Week award. She is the second NSU volleyball player all-time to win the award and the first since Kelsey Chambers won it back on September 29, 2015.

The outside hitter from Sioux Falls, S.D had a great week, compiling a .439 hitting percentage to lead Northern State to a pair of sweeps. She had 33 kills and, in both matches, had at least 15 kills and hit over .400. Nesheim also added nine digs in each of the victories, and had three aces. She accounted for the first three points and five of the final nine points in a third-set comeback against MSUM, where she had 20 points, 18 kills, nine digs, three service aces and .471 attack percentage in the match.

Wolves’ volleyball stands at 7-3 on the season, 2-0 in NSIC action, coming in at sixth in the conference. They will visit No. 23 Minnesota Duluth on Friday, September 18 for their next match.
