Neville Named Associate HC at Langston University

LANGSTON (langstonsports.com) – Langston University head men’s basketball coach Chris Wright announced the addition of Danny Neville to the Lions coaching staff. Neville will serve as the associate head coach for the men’s basketball program.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity that Coach Wright has given me,” Neville said. “I’ve coached against him, and his teams were always the toughest and most well-coached teams we competed against. I have the upmost respect for him and how he has transformed Langston basketball into an elite program.

“I cannot wait to get to work with the current staff and dive into building relationships with the currently players. My family and I are extremely excited to get our feet on the ground and become a part of the amazing Langston community.”

Most recently, Neville served as head coach for the University of Jamestown for eight seasons, boasting a 178-84 career win-loss record. During his time at Jamestown, Neville led the Jimmies to one GPAC regular season conference championship, one GPAC conference tournament championship, four NAIA National Tournament appearances which include three Sweet 16 appearances and one Elite Eight appearance.

Additionally, Neville has helped produced seven NAIA All-American selections, three GPAC Player of the Year selections, one NAIA Player of the Year and 29 NAIA Scholar Athletes.

I have no doubt he is going to play a huge role in helping us win a national championship one day,” head men’s basketball coach Chris Wright said. “He has a tremendous basketball mind, possesses a tireless work ethic and has a genuine love for the student-athletes that he coaches.
