The Aberdeen Regional Airport was visited by the Chamber of Commerce with the ribbon cutting for a new TSA Baggage Screening system that will create more space in the terminal and allow TSA to do their job’s more efficiently, Airport Manager Rich Krokel tells us about it.

Krokel added that the new system will accommodate larger bags and won’t require hand searches.

Krokel was appreciative of travelers that are choosing Aberdeen Regional Airport and recognized them for recent growth.

The project started in April of 2026 and took over the course of the summer to complete with few setbacks.
