WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The U.S. House passed a $900 billion economic stimulus bill Monday night, which will also fund the federal government into next year.
South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says the bill had several important parts.
There was criticism that no Member of Congress could have read the 5,000 page bill. Johnson says that’s not necessarily true.
The bill will direct $600 payments to most taxpayers. Johnson says there are other, more targeted payments included.
Johnson says once the bill passes the Senate and is signed by the President, people can expect to see the payments next month.
