YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Board of Education Standards will hold the next hearing on the updated social studies standards in Sioux Falls on November 21st. The proposed new standards have become controversial due to the out of state source and content.
Yankton School Superintendent Wayne Kindle says they did a survey of their social studies teachers.
Kindle says they also did a survey of parents in the district.
Kindle says they would like to see a restart of the standards updating process.
Kindle made his comments during the “Topics at 12” meeting sponsored by Yankton Thrive.
