No concerns about bed capacity at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown

WATERTOWN, S.D. (KWAT) – Hospital administrators across South Dakota are paying close attention to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases across the state.

As of Thursday, that number had risen to more than 7,000.

K.C. DeBoer is the CEO of Watertown-based Prairie Lakes Healthcare System.

He says the virus has hit the elderly population the hardest, but it’s certainly not exclusive to those people.

He says at Prairie Lakes, there are no concerns about bed capacity—at least not, yet.

At last count, DeBoer says Prairie Lakes Hospital was caring for seven COVID-19 patients.
