No new COVID-19 deaths reported in today

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations drop slightly, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death toll remains 1,775. The state had 65 new confirmed cases and 70 recoveries, lowering active infections 2,828. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus dropped to 126.

So far, South Dakota has had 108,315 confirmed cases and 103,709 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 1 recovery. The county currently has 170 active cases. Overall, the county has had 4,940 confirmed cases and 4,690 recoveries. There remains 80 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 27,015 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,379, and Lincoln County with 7,458. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,754, Brookings with 3,423, Davison with 2,902, Lawrence with 2,751, and Yankton with 2,747.

Statewide 71,362 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine with 29,684 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination.  Brown County has 3,396 receiving at least one shot & 1,471 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
