ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) – On Monday, June 1, at 1:15 p.m., Aberdeen Fire Rescue was dispatched to a commercial business located at 4255 6th Ave SE for a reported vehicle fire. Once initial fire crews arrived, they confirmed a small SUV with a large amount of fire coming from the engine compartment area next to the building. At that time, a full fire response with additional trucks and personnel was requested.

Crews quickly extinguished the vehicle fire. Due to the close proximity to the building, significant heat, and light smoke on the interior of the building, crews utilized a saw to cut open the exterior wall of the business to ensure no fire extension or further fire damage. There were no injuries reported. No immediate cause of the fire was available.
