CHARLOTTE, N.C. (KWAT) — In a formality, President Trump today crossed the threshold of delegates required to be formally nominated for a second term.
Today marked the first day of the Republican National Convention in Charlotte.
The virtual roll call from 57 states and territories included this announcement from Governor Kristi Noem regarding South Dakota’s 29 delegates.
Governor Noem will speak again at the convention Wednesday.
President Trump will formally accept the nomination in an address at the White House on Thursday – the marquee event of the convention.
