PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Governor Kristi Noem explained her opposition to mandating face masks in school to a national audience on the Fox News Channel.

Noem told Fox & Friends that kids trying to keep a mask on during a long school day may actually make the situation worse.

Noem says that all the parents she talked with recently agreed with her on the challenges of children wearing masks in school.

The Governor is leaving it up to individual school districts on how they will re-open in the fall, and under what conditions, including face masks.
