PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem laid out some broad themes and a few specifics during her State of the State speech to a joint meeting of the legislature Tuesday.
Noem referred to the COVID-19 pandemic through the speech, pointing out that the state never closed down.
Noem is asking legislators to further restrict abortions when Down Syndrome is suspected.
Noem is also asking that additional government and civics courses be required in state schools.
Noem also highlighted her request for support on broadband expansion, the merger of two state agencies and needs based college scholarships.
