PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Governor Kristi Noem ordered the opening of the state Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Pierre to help coordinate the state’s response to ongoing blizzard and flood conditions.

Department of Public Safety Spokesman Tony Mangan says it is a resource for local governments.

Mangan says flooding will be the long term focus.

Mangan says they will respond as needed.

The EOC will also be coordinating information for any possible disaster declaration.
