WATERTOWN, S.D. (KWAT) — South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem praised the work of Lake Area Technical College in educating students in high demand areas of the workforce during her speech at the 18th annual Governor’s Luncheon Monday.
She says the country is taking notice.
The governor says filling those high demand areas in the workforce is what it’s all about.
She also touched on the impacts of the pandemic.
She says South Dakota’s economy has come through it in good shape.
The governor says it’s not just people talking about moving to South Dakota. She says it’s happening.
Lake Area President Mike Cartney says the school has done an outstanding job managing the pandemic, citing just three active cases among students currently.
