Noem says COVID surge not unexpected

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota hit another Covid-19 milestone with infection deaths now topping one thousand.

Governor Kristi Noem says as of Thursday, 1,033 people have died from the infection and it affects all of us.

Noem says the wave is not unexpected.

The CDC director said that the next three months will be very difficult across the country. Noem says the impact will continue to be regional.

There are now over 15,000 active cases across the state.
