Noem says surge in cases due to increased testing

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The surge in coronavirus cases in South Dakota continues with 876 new positives being reported Wednesday.

There have been over 2,500 new cases since Friday.

Governor Kristi Noem says its due to increased testing.

Noem says the state focus is on hospitalizations.

Noem says they can expand hospital capacity quickly if needed.

Just over 300 people are currently hospitalized.
