Noem says there may not be enough time to move water out of region

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Many areas of eastern South Dakota have been dealing with heavy rain and flooding over the past few weeks and there may be more in the future.

Governor Kristi Noem toured some of the flooded areas on Friday.

She says Missouri River reservoirs are still too high.

Noem says there may not be time enough to move all the water out of the region.

Noem says the water is rising faster than many of the repairs.

Many state and local roads are closed due to the high water.
