YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem held a conference call with city and county officials this week, to give details of possible federal funding for COVID-19 expenses.
Yankton County Commission Chair Cheri Loest says the specifics will be run through County Auditors.
Loest says local governments were encouraged to keep detailed lists of expenses related to the pandemic.
Loest says there were questions about liability of action and inaction.
Loest says the Governor told them they were still trying to clarify how the federal money could be used at the local level.
