PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem will make another attempt at passing a so called “riot boosting” bill in this year’s legislative session. A bill passed quickly last year would have restricted public actions by protestors. That was later struck down as unconstitutional.
Noem says they took more time to write this bill.
Noem says she wants more public input.
Noem says this year’s version clarifies some earlier laws.
The bills were written in anticipation of protests surrounding the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline in western South Dakota.
