ABERDEEN, S.D.(Hub City Radio)- On Thursday night, the Northern State University Democrats held a candidate forum.

District 3 House candidate Erin Ronayne Rudner talked about water issues about fifty years ago still an issue today.

District 1 House candidate Courtney Enfield served in the Navy for four year.  One item she likes to focus on are veterans issues.

Terrance Davis is running for South Dakota Secretary of State.  He went after his opponent Heather Baxter(R) over pushing to eliminate vote tabulation machine and instead to hand count the ballots.

Dan Ahlers, candidate for Governor, discussed the need to fund education in the state.

Nikki Gronli, candidate for the U.S. House talked about rural issues she would like to address.

One topic that has taken off the last two months has been the issue of license plate readers.  SD Attorney General Marty Jackley is working on legislaton to find the balance between security and privacy of citizens.

Each candidate was asked how they would addressed that.

Davis used to work in law enforcement.

Ahlers talked the balance between privacy and security.

Enfield talked about the potential impact on tribal lands.

Gronli believed this is something that can be addressed on the federal level.

Rudner expressed her concerns about the uncertainty of these programs.

The elections will take place on Tuesday, November 3rd.  Absentee voting started on Friday.
