HURON, S.D.(KOKK)- With the additional heavy snow and ice around the area comes a service and safety reminder for those with natural gas service. Northwestern Energy customer service manager Tom Glanzer reminded customers to take a little time to clear the area around those meters.
Along with keeping good access to the meter, Glanzer talks about why it is important to keep the meter clear of snow buildup.
He also reminds customers to watch for ice build up on furnace vents.
With heavy snow, ice and strong winds that could lead to downed power lines. Keep people, equipment and objects at least 30 feet away from down or low hanging power lines. If you see damage to lines call Northwestern at 800-245-6977.
