PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Enplanements continue to climb at Pierre Regional Airport. After dipping from 1440 in July to 1257 August boardings have increased since September. Airport Liaison to the Pierre City Commission Jamie Huizenga says November is the best month of the year so far.
Of the one-thousand 794, one-thousand 787 flew to Denver with a dismal seven taking the inaugural flight to Minneapolis last Thursday. However Huizenga says more people are expected to fly to the Twin Cities this week.
Huizenga says Pierre Regional Airport is getting into the holiday spirit with the help some local students.
Pierre’s enplanements blasted past Watertown’s November boardings. Watertown had one-thousand 214 enplanements or 580 fewer than Pierre. Watertown had 699 to Denver with 515 to Chicago. For the year both Pierre and Watertown has seen over 14-thousand enplanements at their respective airports.
