14th annual Back-to-School Workshop set for Aug. 17 at NSU

ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release) – The 14th Annual Back-to-School Workshop will take place 8 a.m.-noon Aug. 17 at the Northern State University Johnson Fine Arts Center.

The workshop will be led by Ms. Dorina Sackman-Ebuwa, who is known as “The Lab Coat Teacher” and, affectionately, “Miss Dorito” by her students from around the globe. A video greeting from Ms. Sackman-Ebuwa can be viewed here.

With her unique teaching style, Ms. Sackman-Ebuwa has spent the past 23 years empowering students of at the K-12, college and adult learner level. An expert in building solid relationships that result in successful learning experiences for students and teachers, Ms. Sackman-Ebuwa strongly believes connection to community and Emotional Intelligence over IQ make up the true learning experience.

A nationally recognized educator and recipient of the Florida Teacher of the Year Award, she takes her English Language Learners classroom experiences, collaborative teacher workshops, and doctoral research on transformative emotional intelligence and travels the globe as a “teacher on loan” inspiring, motivating, and empowering teachers and the teaching profession.
