Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University head swimming and diving coach Tim Teeter announced today the additions of to the Wolves 2026-27 roster as members of his first recruiting class. Five student-athletes will join the Wolves this fall: Carlene Gleaves (Andover, Minn.), Adalyn Godfrey (Sauk Rapids, Minn.), Joy Hemsley (Yucaipa, Calif.), Emma Niles (Hot Springs, S.D.), and Peyton Tesmer (Clermont, Fla.).
“I am excited about the depth this group will bring to our sprint freestyle and relay events,” noted Teeter. “We are looking for our incoming freshman to contribute in a big way, and I think all of them are going to help us reach our team goals for the season.”
Carlene Gleaves – Free, Andover, Minn. / Andover HS
Carlene Gleaves is a freestyle swimmer out of Andover, Minnesota. At the high school level, Gleaves was a 5-year starter for the Huskies at AHS. She swam to personal bests of 27.95 in the 50 free, 59.17 in the 100 free, 2:08.10 in the 200 free, and 5:50.07 in the 500 free. Gleaves was a 5-time MSHSL Section 7AA qualifier. She is the daughter of Paul and Melissa Gleaves.
Adalyn Godfrey – Back/IM, Sauk Rapids, Minn. / Sauk Rapids Rice HS
Adalyn Godfrey is a backstroke and individual medley swimmer out of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. At the high school level, she recorded personal bests of 1:00.82 in the 100 back and 2:20.74 in the 200 IM. Godfrey was a 2-time Central Lakes Conference honorable mention selection and 2026 MSHSL qualifier in three events. She is the daughter of Kristi Godfrey.
Joy Hemsley – Free, Yucaipa, Calif. / Arrowhead Christian Academy
Joy Hemsley is a freestyle swimmer out of Yucaipa, California. At the high school level, she is a member of the ACA school record 200 medley and 4×50 freestyle relays. She is the daughter of Kari and Bill Hemsley.
Emma Niles – Free, Hot Springs, S.D. / Homeschool
Emma Niles is a freestyle swimmer out of Hot Springs, South Dakota. As a member of the Fall River Swim Team, Niles was a 2-time qualifier for the Speedo Midwest Section meet. Niles holds personal best of 24.68 in the 50 free and 54.55 in the 100 free. In addition, she is a member of the South Dakota Army National Guard. She is the daughter of Rick and Malisa Niles.
Peyton Tesmer – Free/Fly, Clermont, Fla. / East Ridge HS / Indian River State College
Peyton Tesmer is a freestyle and butterfly swimmer out of Clermont, Florida. At the high school level, Tesmer was a 4-year starter, school record holder, and 3-time state qualifier. She holds the school 100 free record with a time of 53.68. Tesmer is a 2-time conference champion (2023, 2024) and Florida State finalist (2021, 2023). She is the daughter of Wendy and Tony Tesmer.
