Sioux Falls, SD (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University opened the 2026 cross country season Friday evening from Sioux Falls, following a pair of heat related weather delays. The men took 25th with an average time of 17:07, while the women took ninth with an average time of 19:17.
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
- The freshman trio of Phoenix Anderson, Eddie Burlingame, and Marco Springman led the way as the Wolves top-3 finishers with times of 16:51.1, 17:01.7, and 17:03.6 respectively
- Patrick Severson and Zachary Terrio followed in the 17th minute with times of 17:13.7 and 17:20.2, while Zachary Palmer and Turner Thorson landed in the 18th minute with times of 18:00.7 and 18:24.2
- Daniel Aldridge and Daniel Leiferman rounded out the Wolves in competition with times of 19:07.2 and 20:06.9
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
- Emaleigh Olesiak led the way, taking 15th overall, crossing the finish line in 18:04.9
- Abby Hasart followed in the top-40 with a time of 18:38.2, while Gwen Richter opened her collegiate career running a 19:37.4
- Madisyn Gellhaus, Allison Lundin, Grace LeClair, Kendal Uttecht, and Breck Ekenberg added times of 20:01.0, 20:02.2, 20:06.8, 20:07.2, and 22:54.9
