Duluth, MN (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University track and field multi student-athletes opened the first day of the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships today from Duluth. Two Wolves sit in the top-10 with five total in competition.
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
- Jackson Willis leads the Northern State men in his return to the NSIC Championships, sitting eighth with 3,029 points
- Willis recorded marks of 11.75 in the 100m, 6.58m in the long jump, 9.16m in the shot put, 1.82 in the high jump (season best), and 56.67 in the 400m
- Ross Kortenbusch and Sean Juengst sit in 12th and 13th with point totals of 2,914 and 2,902 respectively
- Kortenbusch notched marks of 11.49 in the 100m, 5.47m in the long jump, 12.01m in the shot put, 1.58m in the high jump, and 54.27 in the 400m
- Juengst added marks of 12.03 in the 100m, 5.90m in the long jump, 10.31m in the shot put, 1.76m in the high jump, and 55.10 in the 400m
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
- Morgan Sheldon is third in the heptathlon with 2,970 points, notching marks of 14.64 in the 100m hurdles, 1.59m in the high jump, 11.61m in the shot put, and 26.89 in the 200m
- Addison Cumbow heads into day two in 16th with 2,270 points, recording marks of 16.02 in the 100m hurdles, 1.38m in the high jump, 8.86m in the shot put, and 28.24 in the 200m

Competition continues tomorrow from Malosky Stadium. Track events begin at 10 a.m., with field events kicking off an hour later.
