Lexington, Ky. (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University volleyball was among 1,126 teams honored by the AVCA yesterday with the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 season. A national contender on the court, the Wolves continue to prove their prowess in the classroom earning the award for the sixth consecutive year.
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
The Wolves finished the 2018-19 academic year leading the department with a 3.81 spring semester GPA and 3.73 fall semester GPA. They finished the year with a cumulative 3.75 GPA as a team. Northern State volleyball opens the 2019 season September 6 and 7 from the Colorado School of Mines Tournament.
