ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – Dozens of purple shirts have been hanging up on the overhead on South Second St. They are there to draw attention to Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Gina Karst, Executive Director at Safe Harbor, talked about the shirts.
She said there are a lot of events going on in October with Breast Cancer Awareness and pheasant hunting, so sometimes it can be a challenge to get people to think about domestic violence.
Currently, the Safe Harbor shelter is completely full and Karst is looking for alternative ideas.
