PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The legal minds in the South Dakota legislature are beginning the work of writing rules for the state’s new marijuana movements.
Representative Ryan Cwach of Yankton, a member of the Judiciary Committee, says there are still many questions around the amendment and initiative.
Cwach says they could put in code some sections of the ballot issues.
Cwach says they could also give oversight authority to state agencies.
Voters approved a constitutional amendment legalizing recreational use of marijuana and an initiative allowing medical uses. The amendment is currently in a legal challenge.
