SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (WNAX) – The assessments continue after a severe storm with three confirmed tornadoes hit Sioux Falls last week, causing significant damage to much of the city.
Todd Heitkamp, meteorologist in charge of the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says they can learn from the storm and aftermath.
Heitkamp says the storm was unique and moved very quickly.
The storm hit after 11 p.m. last Tuesday night.
Heitkamp says any place in the northern plains can get hit by a tornado.
Heitkamp says they continue to analyze the storm timing and their response to it.
