SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (WNAX) – Health care professionals are watching COVID-19 infection numbers decrease with caution.

Dr. David Basel, with Avera Health in Sioux Falls, says they haven’t seen a surge from the holidays.

Basel says vaccinations of their employees have been going rapidly.

Basel says the next round of immunizations will take some time.

The federal government has announced they will change the rules and allow almost all the reserve vaccines to be shipped to the states in the next few weeks.
