YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has held several conference calls with legislators, updating them on the coronavirus pandemic and the states response.
Senator Craig Kennedy of Yankton says in their last call, Noem said there may not be the need for a special session to fix the budget.
Kennedy, assistant Senate minority leader, says he hasn’t seen any more information about how that federal money could be spent.
Kennedy says the legislature should have some say in how those dollars are spent.
A possible special session could be held this summer, after more months of tax revenue reports are received.
