WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The Senate will not return to Washington until after Labor Day, which won’t leave much time until the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30.
South Dakota Senator John Thune says they will have to use a budget band aid to extend the spending deadline.
Thune says that budget work may get mixed in with debate over the next economic stimulus plan.
Thune says Democrats and Republicans will eventually have to make a deal.
Republicans have proposed spending $1 trillion on the next stimulus plan while democrats are pushing for $3 trillion.
