One killed, another injured in motorcycle crash near Tea

TEA, S.D. (Press Release) – One person died and another person was injured in a motorcycle crash that occurred Sunday afternoon near Tea.

Names of those involved are not being released pending notification of family members.

A 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle, pulling a motorcycle trailer, was southbound when the motorcycle’s rear tire blew out causing the driver to lose control. The two occupants were thrown from the motorcycle when it crashed.

Both occupants were transported via ambulance to a Sioux Falls hospital. The 54-year-old male driver eventually died from his injuries. The 46-year-old female passenger suffered serious non-life threatening injuries. Neither occupant was wearing a helmet.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is only preliminary at this point.
