BLUNT, S.D. (Press Release) – One person died in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon east of Blunt.
The names of the two people involved are not being released pending notification of family members.
A 2016 Jeep Compass was eastbound on U.S. Highway 14 when it drifted into the path of a westbound 2012 Kenworth W900 semi-truck tractor trailer. The two vehicles collided.
Pronounced dead at the scene was the 55-year-female driver of the Jeep Compass. The male driver of the semi-truck, 59 years old, received minor injuries and was transferred by ambulance to the Pierre hospital. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
