One new COVID-related death, 123 new cases reported

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – South Dakota had an increase of 59 active COVID-19 cases and one new COVID-related death according to figures released by the state department of health today.

The death brings the state’s total to 155. South Dakota had 123 new cases and 63 recoveries, pushing the state’s number of active infections to 1,222 (there were 1,062 one week ago). In all, South Dakota has had 10,566 confirmed cases and 9,189 recoveries. There are currently 55 people hospitalized in connection with the virus.

Locally, Brown County had five new confirmed cases and three new recoveries, moving the amount of active infections to 58. The county has had 496 confirmed cases, 435 recoveries and three deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 4,727 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 962, Lincoln County with 738, and Beadle County with 598.
