One-time money will be key topic of session

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota legislators are back in Pierre, ready to settle into their schedule routine.

Representative Ryan Cwach of Yankton says the one issue he has heard a lot of talk about is the one time money they have to work with.

Governor Kristi Noem has proposed using a big chunk for needs-based scholarships. Cwach, a Democrat, says some universities are left out.

Cwach says he does support some of the other spending in the Governor’s proposal.

Legislators have until Jan. 28 for unlimited bill introductions.
