PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Its getting down to days before the start of classes for many schools across the state.
Wade Pogany, Executive Director of the Associated School Boards of South Dakota, says as of last week there were still about three hundred openings for teachers.
Pogany says districts will make the hires they can and then make adjstments.
Pogany says most districts have many other jobs they also need to fill.
Districts got a six percent increase in their state funding, and many moved that directly to teacher pay.
